How the Grinch Stole Christmas is on right now. And yes, even though I'm Jewish, I'm watching it because I love it. My favorite christmas movie is The Nightmare Before Christmas, but this is a close second.

When the TV announcer said it was next I checked the date on the right hand side of my computer: November 13th. Does America even celebrate Thanksgiving anymore??? Maybe if Thanksgiving encorporated presents, it'd be more popular.

The more cynical part of me is suprised they waited this long to show it though...

So I'm watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas and I'm not as able to get into the songs as much as I used to. I listened to all the insults sung at the Grinch and I wondered if he'd be called "as cuddly as a cactus," "as charming as an eel," or a sandwich "with arsenic sauce" if he was stealing a holiday other than Christmas.

What really bothered me though, was the assaults on his soul. We all know his heart is 2 sizes too small, but to they really have to criticize his soul too?? He's a cartoon character!! The narrator nonchalantly sings of the Grinch's soul being "full of gunk" and having garlic in it.

This seems a little innapropriate for a kids' cartoon. It's character assasination. The Grinch doesn't fit in (why else would he live so far away and want to hurt the whos) and is ostracized for it.

With all that said...
Happy Holidays
