sleep-deprived realizations

A couple nights ago I just couldn't sleep, my brain wouldn't shut up. My mind kept drifting to my senior trip and all the ppl I miss. Then, of course, I starting thinking about the guy I like (I'm not going to name him here). I started thinking about him and how much I miss him (I haven't seen him since graduation!), then I started thinking about how much it sucked that we didn't have any classes together this year.
A bunch of memories started to flood me. I suddenly remembered hanging out with him freshman year- sitting on his bed with him on a shabbaton, talking to him, and being his partner for English projects. I remembered being in his English class junior year. I was really impressed when he said he was into Marvel Comics and X-Men and wanted to get to know him better. Then, senior year, I was really bummed to not have ANY classes with him and smiled at him whenever I saw him in the halls. I tried to spend as much time as I could with him during the senior trip. This is when it hit me: I've had a crush on him since freshman year!!! Why did it take me so long to realize this?
